Mel Hoekstra Interiors works through a thoughtful, structured design methodology that protects your time, your investment and your peace of mind.

Our Design Session is a premium, dedicated appointment for clients seeking vision, layout, finishes, flow or guidance. It’s an ideal pathway for those who do not require our Full Interior Design Services, yet value a considered direction and clear next steps.

These sessions are designed to support confident decision-making, refine ideas and gently resolve design roadblocks through thoughtful, considered guidance.

To ensure each client receives the appropriate level of care and attention, we offer a limited number of Design Sessions each year. These Sessions are conducted in-home for clients located within a 45-minute drive of the Northern Gold Coast. For clients located further afield, sessions are held via video call or onsite for an additional travel fee.

Sessions are a minimum of two hours, up to a full day, depending on your requirements.

Investment:

Minimum two hours - $1,250 incl. GST

Additional time during or post Session - $295 incl. GST per hour

Deliverables

Prior to your Design Session:

  • We’ll send you a pre-session questionnaire to understand your home, lifestyle and priorities

  • Review any plans, images or key information provided ahead of time

  • Thoughtfully prepare to ensure our time together is focused and effective

During your Design Session:

  • High-level design guidance tailored to your home and lifestyle

  • Advice on your personal design roadblock

  • Refinement of ideas and resolution of design challenges

  • Clear, expert direction to support confident decision-making

After your Design Session:

  • Provide a considered summary of actionable design notes

  • Clear next steps to support your project moving forward

  • Design Sessions are ideal for resolving moments of uncertainty or decision fatigue. We commonly assist with layout and spatial flow, finishes and colour direction, furniture placement, lighting considerations, joinery planning, styling direction and how to bring cohesion to a space or entire home. Whether you’re unsure how to move forward or simply want reassurance you’re on the right path, the session is designed to provide clarity and confident direction.

  • Yes. Once we have confirmed a suitable day and time, full payment is required to confirm your Design Session. This allows us to prepare thoughtfully and reserve dedicated time for your appointment.
