romantics, creatives & seekers.
We have worked with our beautiful client at Birchwood Farm in Dalwood, Northern NSW, over the last few years designing custom furniture, soft furnishings & window coverings, styling & placing the finishing touches on her Farmhouse.
Our client has been busy building & designing a studio on her property for short term holiday stays & my husband & I were honoured to be invited to do a trial run of “The Nest” & offer styling advice. I will preface to say that this property & location was already my absolute favourite place to visit & the studio Margaret has created is thoughtful, peaceful & inspiring.
Time instantly slowed & worries faded as we felt the cosy embrace of “The Nest”.
Our styling advice revolved around adding layers & a cosy feel to the space in the form of furniture, rugs, lamps, soft furnishings, accessories & artwork. We want to keep the studio clutter free & clean looking & allow the quality workmanship to shine through. Over time we will add unique pieces by local artisans. In the longer term, once established, the view is to add outdoor tiles, climbing plants & perhaps even an outdoor claw bath for indulgent moments.
The Nest feels elegant & spacious, offering beautiful private views of the paddocks from every room. We enjoyed the quiet wildlife, the magical sun rises & sun sets, the storms rolling by & the stunning number of stars at night. We spent a few leisurely days immersing ourselves in the immediate region of Dalwood, the local town of Alstonville & enjoyed scenic drives to East Ballina, Lismore & surrounds. I can honestly say we didn’t want to leave.
