Living interstate, our clients faced the challenge of remotely renovating, designing, and styling their Gold Coast holiday home. Recognising the complexity of the task, they sought our assistance. Their vision was to create a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. While the home primarily boasts a neutral contemporary-coastal style, we have added pops of color here & there to enhance its charm.
The land size is very large for suburbia & the long term plan is to build new villas in 5-10 years time so we needed to juggle designing a quality renovation to maximise medium term returns whilst being mindful it may not be replaced in the future. For this reason we have retained some materials throughout the renovation, like the large format floor tiles, & some of the materials we introduced can be recycled & reused in future homes.
The interior of the home has undergone a partial renovation. We have repainted the entire house, carpeted the bedrooms, installed new lighting and fans, renovated the laundry area, and fully furnished and styled the spaces to suit both a holiday home & medium term rental.
To enhance our clients holiday experience, we incorporated earthy, nature-inspired colors into the bedrooms, for a touch of fun. When the home is rented, the rooms undergo a transformation, adopting a more neutral ambiance through the use of white and natural-toned bed linen.
The forth bedroom is set up as an office for those staying who may need to work from home, with the option to fold open the moss coloured sofa forming a queen size bed, if required.
The previous laundry was not functional or attractive so we designed a functional space that you enjoy spending time in. The reclaimed timber bench, new fittings, tiles & styling connect with the grounded, neutral design in the rest of the home.
We embarked on a significant transformation of the home's exterior, starting with the design of a reclaimed timber entryway and the creation of a lush tropical garden. To infuse a fresh contemporary-coastal aesthetic, we introduced numerous white pots and revitalized the previous brown paint and yellow brick render with a crisp, white tone.
